In many countries prostitution is already legalized. Major benifit for the prostitutes, they have health insurances and are regongnized as normal workes. Also they have to make health checks and so on ... I Think its a benefit for all.
About Marijuana its the same, eg netherlands or siwtzerland its already legalized ... so what happened? The people consumed anyway - now its legal. But this is only possible, I think, I countries where crime is low and social stability is given or more where almost no social gap is between rich and poor, further its a democratic decission, if the most of the people living in the country want it, how can the state still say NO? Ah, I forgot ... there are still countries where the word democracy is abused ... hihi..

I think they should legalize both.
marijuana- They legalize tobacco which kills more Americans each year than marijuana and the AIDS ,people would contract from having sex with prostitutes ,combined. Whether they would like to admit it or not many of the politicians in office right now have dappled in pot back in the days. they can deny it, but they were part of the era when getting high and having sex were the norm.
Prostitution- It shoudl be legalized because whether we like it or not people pay for sex all the time. Whether its with a wedding ring, or a chance to watch football all weekend with no interuptions. There are people out there who don't have people who are willing to have sex with them for one reason or another, and they should be able to give up their money as they see fit. They aren't buying heroine, they are buying what many of us get for free and take for granted.
If there was a way to govern prostitution so that there would be no spread of contractable diseases and no underage prostitutes, i say I'm all for it.

The price of marijuana would skyrocket once the govt started to tax it, so you might not want it legalized. Decriminalization would be a better solution, I think. "God dont want no dopeheads in jail", as the song goes.
Legalized prostitution would be a good idea. The state govt could regulate the trade just as it does food handlers. That would make for an all-around safer business for seller and buyer and might put those godless pimps out of business.

A man is alleged to have raped a prostitute in Nottingham city centre after she turned him down. The 24-year-old victim was in North Sherwood Street, near Chatham Street, late on Monday night when the man propositioned her from Newstead Grove. She was allegedly dragged up the drive of Potter's House Christian Fellowship while being threatened with a metal bar, before being raped by the man.

Marijuana, though relaxing and munchy producing causes loss of brain cells. I don't want a bunch of Pot Heads running around my neighborhood.
But... Prostitution, legalized, regulated with high standards of Safety and Sanitation as well as it finally being taxed, should be considered. I'm sure a lot of people will say it's immoral, but since I for one choose not to judge others morals, as long as they aren't hurting anyone, in a lot of cases this could prove beneficial, for different reasons for different people at different stages in life. It could be like a really cool Physical Therapy.
I just hate to see our jails filling up, and law enforcement resources going towards someone trying to buy a lil lovin, when they could be out there catching the murderers, rapists, pedophiles, etc.

Personally I don't understand why the government hasn't jumped on board with this one. Legalize, regulate, and then Sin tax the heck out of it. Regulation of both prostitution and marijuana would decrease the amount of diseases spread and the incidence of "dipping" and "lacing" respectively. It would make both industries safer and healthier. And you wouldn't have to raise normal taxes in order to pay for education, healthcare, or any other of our wonderful programs that are being neglected in favor of bridges to nowhere.

this is so hard to answer lets see from different stand points oe alchol was illigal for some time now it is legal we have age limits and all that but you know people are constantly getting hit by people driving drunk right ? well when u have a family member killed then it really hits home and i am sure that when pot is legalized the sam ramifications only different will appear as did the legalizing of liquor example
DWI + DUI = D.O.A AND ALOT OF SENSLESS FATALITYS . as for the prostitutes get married honny and when your mad one night or too tired to give your old man some good sex and he goes pays for it comes home and u get AIDS and feelings hurt that he had sex with another woman then u will know why prostitution is not cool

mar: Latest data on marijuana has found that teens who indulge have a higher rate ( as much as, 10 times ) to become ADDICTED to it. This is attributed to the formation of the neurons in the brains being underdeveloped in teens. Therefore, they become addicts to the "harmless" weed !!! Prostitution legalized, contributes to STDs and young kids "doing it" to turn over a quick $ .

Because the government cannot handle those things well if they get legalized. Moreover, if they get legalized, someone may think this way that the government is encouraging people to do that.
