If you're using the EPT brand, I believe it says on the box that you can test as early as the first day of your missed period. If you're just wondering when you can do a home test in general, I guess it really depends on the test. My best friend, who has 3 kids, says that it's not possible to find out with a home test until at least 3-4 weeks after conception. I took one at 3 weeks and it came up negative. But, at 5 weeks it came up positive (I was 5 weeks pregnant). You just have to remember that the home tests are testing for the hormone that you're body produces when you're pregnant. They're just for testing to see if it shows up in your urine. I don't know about you're doctor but mine doesn't bother with a blood test until they have you take a urine test at their office. I asked about the test they use, they said they use the home test that everyone buys at the store.
I will give you one big suggestion. If you're planning on taking a bunch of home test until you do get pregnant I would use the brand Confirm Clearly. It'll cost you less money in the long run (that and not doing multiple tests every day, lol). All you do is buy the starter pack and then keep the test reader. If you use all of the ones that come with it, you just have to buy the refills (the stick you actually pee on). I think it's better because the results window isn't like all the other ones, where you have to wait for that little line to show up or not and it's all blurry and unclear. The results window on this one is a light that lights up. It's got one light to tell you if the tester is working right (before the test), one that tells you it's not working right, one to tell you you're not pregnant, and one to tell you that you are pregnant. (Four different colors.) It's really not that expensive either. I got mine at Wal-mart.

Ept is a good test but First Respose says that it is about 60 something percent accurate 5 days before your missed period...Ept is almost as accurate. The percentage obviously goes up as you reach the day your period is supposed to start. But if you are pregnant I have seen girls get their positive result several days before their missed period.

i think i may have been a total fluke, but i took a pregnancy test that came out positive so i went to the doc. by the babys age by the ultrasound, it turns out that i tested exactly one week after conception.
if i were you i would buy a multipack of pregnancy tests, and test on first day of your missed period. if that is negative, wait a week and test again. you could also go to the OB right now for a blood test.
