Seriously... I see it in too many replies...

If i put my car keys down and cant find them = I have lost my car keys.

If i win your money in a game = You lose. (Not "LOOSE")

If Manchester United are beating Man City 5-0 at half-time = Man City are losing 5-0. (NOT LOOSING)

It is all the fault of "Spellcheck". The poor lad does not know the difference. Come to think of it, he also makes mistakes and corrects proper English expressions and changes them to American ones. I wonder where he has been educated. Perhaps he is losing his marbles or is the victim of loose thinking. However he DOES know the difference between "usage" and "useage" and corrects the latter.
Should the letter "i" not be a capital at the start of a sentence?
You know , as in the sentence "I checked prior to etc..."

Yes, that one and 'there' instead of 'their' and 'were' instead of 'where' really bugs me!
Pronunciation is also getting on my nerves such as the recent Sane Tandrews day instead of Saint Andrews, Guvvament instead of GoverNment, and then the grammatical 'different TO' instead of the correct 'different FROM'
All the above are like scraping my nails down a blackboard. Does that make me pedantic?

Have to agree with you Billy Man, it certainly does make monotonously regular appearances. The general level of grammar and spelling on Answers is fairly dire in any case.

No - the most misspelt word on the net is "u". Drives me nuts!

By the way, I think "ladyfromdrum" meant to say "Does that make me a pedant?". "Pedantic" is an adjective. :-)

I think "definite" is the most missplet word on the net, usually written as "definate".

I see so many misused, incorrectly spelled words that it's really hard to declare a clear winner.
