Doctors typically consider full term to be anywhere from 37 to 42 weeks from lmp.

The doctor will calculate your due date as 40 weeks from the first day of your last menstrual period (lmp). An easy way to do this is to take the first day of your lmp and add 7 to it to get the day your baby is due, and take the month of your lmp and add 9 months to that to get the month. Example: lmp Nov. 15, 2006 then baby would be due August 22, 2006. Doctors use calendar wheels, so the day may not be exact - could be 3 days on either side, but it's an easy and accurate way to determine your due date without having to wait until your first doctor's visit.

Not sure if that's what you were looking for, but it is an extra tidbit of information for you from a mother of 5.

I am a nurse and 37 weeks is considered a full term baby, but keep in mind that even a 37 week baby can experience some distress at birth but on the same note, so can a 40 weeker: )

A full-term pregnancy is 40 weeks; anything beyond about 32 weeks is generally at least viable, however.
