It does occur, however to think that one species creates another, is stupid. If it occurred to humans why haven't all the apes turned into humans? When was the last time that you saw an ape give birth to a human? Evolution is a theory, not a law. Quit treating it as such.

The theory of natural selection makes a lot of sense because it depends on three things we can observe quite easily:

1. Variation. Traits vary among individuals in a species.
2. Inheritance. Individuals pass traits onto offspring.
3. Competition. Some individuals live to reproduce more offspring.

Given these three things, those traits that provide some advantages to survival and reproduction, get passed on to more offspring ... and thus those traits will tend to propagate throughout the species over time. This is how a species can change (evolve) slowly over time.

Given a *great deal* of time, a species can evolve (change) a *great deal*.

So if two subpopulations of a species get isolated from each other, they can evolve (change) in different directions (diverge).

If this isolation lasts for long enough, the two diverging subspecies will lose first the desire, and then the ability to interbreed (because of the accumulation of changes in the genes makes them genetically incompatible). This, by definition, means they are two separate species.

What part doesn't make sense?

Because the bones and fossils that have been found put together the make up of humans. Also how each species has transformed from another and has become extict. Just like how the T-Rex is directly related to birds and Dolphins are related to wolves. Go to www.PBS.org and look up evolution and you will see a list of things that are related. Its all part of DNA. How a Gorilla shares 98% of our Human DNA. We are so alike how could evolution not happen.

Evolution is supported by an overwhelming amount of evidence.

Those that oppose it are too blinded by their religion to really look at the facts. They either reject it before receiving any information or refuse to learn it.

Evolution and religion may be incompatable in some cases but they do not have to be mutually exclusive. Maybe God created the system of evolution? Maybe the bible is wrong.

Do not listen to these naysayers because they are extremely stubborn and love to let others know of that.

over time (millions of years) animals with traits better suited to survive more than ones without good traits.

example: say there are 2 types of armadillos. type A can go for 73 hours without drinking water and type b for 90. say one day there was a terribl drought and for 85 hours no water was available. so now that there are only type b armadillos and no more A's have been born. armadillos have evolved into a stronger type

of course its not that siple but you sholdget the idea.

kudos to danielshmidt! finally someone who knows what they're talking about!!! evolution was discovered whenever they started researching fossils and comparing them to modern civilization. the theory that man evolved from ape is ignorant. there is no "theory" of such, and as many people question how is it possible if there are still apes living today? the theory is actual fact, proof that we were once almost ape-like. i am a sophmore at te university of north texas and have taken numerous antropology classes in which we discussed the human evolvment from the first man. believe it or not they have actually traced ack that the first woman was in africa! and that all humans today share a similar mitochondrial dna that is linked to her!!

Well who is to say that is not the way God intended it to be. God made the universe in 6 days, but as feeble minded as we humans are we only have a concept for a 24 hour day. Who knows how long a day was back in the begining. man was not around the first couple of days to begin with.

we did not evolve from monkeys or apes or anything like that. God created us from dust. . . . . . . And the Big Bang Theory, really happened, too. .

GOD SAID AND "BANG" IT HAPPENED!
