people push their beliefs onto others because it helps them feel better about themselves. people like to feel that they are right, and having other people affirm that is a good way to feel that you are right. for some people this becomes an overriding concern, and that's when you get the kinds of nutcases you mentioned

Well, you said you wanted serious answers ... I'll give you one.
As far as abortion being called murder, we will assume that the people you're referring to are Christian. Since the majority are.
Christians believe that the Bible is the true, literal word of God Himself. They must follow God's word to the best of their ability to be rewarded by Him and avoid the punishment of Hell.
The Bible describes Moses receiving the Ten Commandments, the foundation of their religion, and lists them. One of them is "Thou shalt not kill" or "Thou shalt not murder" ... the translation is contested.
The majority of Christian denominations, following the lead of the Catholic Church (which was first to declare it officially), view abortion as a form of killing or murder. That means to a Christian the act of aborting a fetus is a grave sin, disobeying one of the Ten Commandments.
Christians worry about others' sins because they are told to teach others their religion (the relevant part is capitalized), also in the Bible, in Matthew 28:19-20:
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost
20 TEACHING THEM TO OBSERVE ALL THINGS WHATSOEVER I HAVE COMMANDED YOU; and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world."
Since Christians believe this to be commanded by God, they do it. That is why when you ask a question about abortion, many people feel the need to explain that they believe it is a sin.
There you have it. Of course there are other issues as well, but that is as simple as I can make it and still be accurate. I do not like the fact that people criticize others for their actions or beliefs, but I am the only person I can control. Their business is none of mine. If I see a question I cannot answer politely and truthfully (from the asker's point of view), I do not answer it. I wish others would do the same.

I think thats part of the reason this forum exists,.. people ask quetions,. and when some awnser,. they will undoubtably try and get people to see there side of things, even if it is in a tasteless manor. I agree with scarlet and many others on here,.. some people only do it for attention,.. others becasue the way they were brought up, e.g. their opinion is superior to others,.. and then there is me,.. who does it becasue the voives in my head tell me to.
anyways...
I think if you put stuff on an open site, you can expect a total mix of stuff. Its up to you to decide, do you fule the fire of the idiots by acknowledgeing the effect it has? Or do you filter through the responses finding only awnsers you want in a sense of self reassurance? Or, do you look for the midground, and read eveything, dismissing the obvious trash, laughing at the occasional ribbing, and then using serious opinions at both sides to make an informed, or at least balanced opinionated decision on something?
Your totally the one in control when it all comers down to it.
As far as abortion or whatever,.. I'm of the belief that theres methods in existence to prevent such things, and even if the occasional mishap shoud occur, thers things like the morning after pill and such,... becasue if you wiat too long in my opinion, it is wrong.
take care

People are raised differently and believe different things and that's what makes this community entertaining. If, you put out a controversial subject like abortion, you will get open minded answers, people pushing their beliefs and plenty of judgment, as is life. So, if you don't like it, then tell it like is!
Personally, I am pro-choice and I don't hide it. I do not like abortion and would never be apart of it, but, I believe it must exist and remain safe and legal for many reasons. A woman should have choices about her reproductive health and should have access to whatever is necessary. And, she should feel safe with the knowledge that she will have clean services that will not jeopardize her life. JMHO!

Some people who are pro-life feel it's almost their "duty" to spread God's word about this matter. I think it's kind of some weird urge to witness to this person over the internet. I do wish they would stop, because badmouthing someone in need is going to make them LESS likely to want to be part of the religion, not the other way around.
I have heard infinitely more stories of women who have been saved after being told that God can forgive them of anything they have done in life, including having an abortion, than I have heard of women who have been saved because of a Christian was yelling at her for killing her unborn baby. So, not only will these pro-lifers fail at their quest to get this woman to not have an abortion, but they are probably going to make her never want to go near a church again.
Obviously it is very difficult because people will feel like bad Christians if they do not reach out to this woman, but I don't think they realize they are reaching out to smack the mother in the face instead of reaching out to spread God's love.

For millions of years there has ALWAYS been someone think that they are "the best," no matter what it is, man-woman, abortion-pro-life, white-black, and millions of other things. No one is better than anyone, and you are right, before we judge we should walk a mile in their shoes, we do not have all the facts. I usually say what my beliefs are, but I would emphasize that they are my beliefs, I would also try to be understanding. Some situations I have never faced, and God willing, I never will.

it`s natural if people think they are the right one..,especially when it comes to what they are belief in..,they often push themselves to defending what they believe to be the right thing
about woman done abortion..u may say maybe there are several situation and condition that push them to do that.such as for a medic indications which allowed them to have abortion, that i can understand. If the reasons r out of that u also have to realize the baby inside was innocent..
we have no right to kill ones chance to live in this world whatever the reason...
my advice to woman who done that
think before u do something
u have a responsibility to your life not only once u r in this world

Their are so many different responses, all based on peoples' experiences and those who are against abortion are stating their beliefs with the intent that it will help others make what they believe to be the right choice. I do not think anyone should force their decision on anyone else, but stating one's opinion is always acceptable.

People are on here to get others point of views, etc. But as intelligent as some people are, they show the ignorance by their rudeness, callous responses. No it is not acceptable to judge others, but to give an honest opinion and guidance to people is what this world ought to be about. You cannot lead others by forcing them to believe what you believe, you lead by example.

I think that some people are honestly trying to help people to do what is right, so they tell you what to do. I think some good hearted people out there want to help others. They just get carried away with it. Some people really think that abortion is murder, so it doesn't bother them to call people who have abortions murderers. But abortion is still legal, so if you don't like what they have to say, tell 'em to F off.
