Get your husband involved, you have enough to do. The main thing to prepare for an impending delivery is an overnight bag. This is done so that when the time comes (contractions, water breaks, etc.) you will be able to leave immediately. Also, make sure you have copies of your OB paperwork (showing labs, etc.) in the unlikely event that you do not deliver where you are planning (in case of emergency).

Before going to delivery, it's good to prepare your overnight bag. It should contain the items suggested by your doctor/hospital. The hospital provided me a list with the ff. items to bring: 2 nursing bras, 2 night gowns/change of clothes (make sure these are comfortable and note that these may also be soiled by blood), going-home outfit, warm cardigan, baby mittens/booties, wrapping/receiving blanket or a going-home outfit for baby. Some of the baby items (like diapers, toiletries, etc) may already be provided, check with your hospital. Extra items you should bring are: still/video camera, extra pillow, magazines (CD's) to calm you during labor. Depending on your doctor's recommendation, you can also bring drinks (water/juice) and food (soup or easily digestable food like jell-o), because if it's your first baby the labor would probably take 8-12 hours. You need to keep up your strength for the contractions and the pushing. =)

Good Luck! Good health to you and your baby as well.

PLENTY of diapers! just stock up on all the basics. diapers, wipes, formula if needed, laundry soap, baby soap, lotion... plus things for you, toiletries (including lots of maxi pads), toilet paper, and even food, because you are not going to want to have to go out and buy all that stuff. if you wont have anyone else to help you especially. you can even make a bunch of meals ahead of time and stick them in the freezer for a quick eat. make sure your house is clean and the babys room is ready. this may be obvious, but have your hospital bag packed, clothes for the baby too, and have your carseat already installed. bring a pacifier if you want one, as not every hospital gives them out. oh, and make sure all your baby clothes have been prewashed. you will probably find other little things you wish you had done ahead of time once you get back home, but it won't be a big deal. relax at home with your newborn!

Clean the house, pre make meals. Wash baby bedding and blankets. Be sure you have diapers, wipes, baby bath supplies on hand, basically everything you will need for the household for the next week so you dont have to leave the house. Food, drinks, laundry soap, shampoo, etc.
Nice to have birth plan, keep it simple so nurses know what you want. Be sure you have your and babies bag pack ahead of time. Dont forget the camera and a relaxation CD and small player. Phone # of everyone for dad to call written out.

Make sure your house is tiddy if not clean you will not want to walk into a dirty home. Stock up on quick meals for breakfast graonla bars or yougurt & lunch something quick & easy too. Try to have at least a few things in the freeser that are oven ready, I made pasta & chicken parmasiagn & froze them very easy much less mess or you can buy frozen lasagna trays.. And have some takeout menus on hand trust me you will not want to cook for atleast a week. Have diaper, ipes & pads stocked up. Good Luck

Just make sure you have the things you need for when you get home. Even if you are planning on breast feeding, have a bottle and some formula just in case. Soothers are good to have on hand too. A few sleepers, blankets for swaddling, diapers, wipes, face cloths for bath time, baby soap. For you, make sure you have some good maxi pads!! I liked the Kotex ones because they "breathe" good!! Might be a good idea to have pain medication (super strength Motrin is AWESOME!) and maybe some stool softeners (for if you have a vaginal birth - last thing you want is to not be able to poop!!) Have some premade meals in the freezer so you don't have to cook for a few days too.

Wishing you a quick and easy labor!

Diapers, wipes formula...o and for you...delivery menus cause you can't drive...i also made a schedule for when people could come visit because my sister-in-law said she had trouble getting rid of her parents (my in-laws) after the baby was born. So I gave everyone a time to come (when my husband was home) and a time to leave so I didn't feel uncomfortable asking them to leave. I sent out little invites explaining this way everyone got private time with her and it worked out so nicely. We also planned a party for the week after she was born. It was wonderful. My best advice...plan plan plan! Also, when you leave the hospital ask you OBgYN for a pain killer perscription...you're gonna need it!

Plenty of meals hubby can cook in the freezer or arrange for neighbors and/or relatives to bring him food.

Get all cleaned up and shampoo hair and so forth because after you are not going to feel like taking a lot of trouble with your personal things.

You don't need shopping, you need prayer. I am a female who is too scared to have a baby due to the birthing process. Pray your baby is healthy, pray you live through the experience, pray your hoo haa goes back to a normal size after it is ripped apart and pray that you don't get more than one baby if you are only expecting one. Pray that your kid never talks back or becomes a drug addict and pray that you live to see them grow up. Well like I said, pray, not shop, the mall will always be there, having a kid-priceless.
