Well, the 'November sweeps' is over (this is important in terms of advertising.) So, they tend to show repeats after that.
During the sweeps months (esp. November, February, and maybe, May; July is also a sweeps month, but not as important as the winter sweeps), they tend to churn out new episodes to get viewers to tune in. Higher ratings mean they can get more money out of advertisers. So, they show us repeats as they film new episodes, etc.

There are always repeats when it's Christmastime! It should be back after the New Year. Not many people are able to watch it even if it were new. I normally watch it online anyways, so I dont need to see it on TV on Thursday nights.
