Please tell me:
What stereotype do you use the most often?
By using a stereotype I mean: discern a situation or the character of someone based upon a stereotype you have for a group in which they SEEM to belong.

Geedebb, thank you for your answer.

Iwondersoiask, I know it can be difficult to avoid those things, traumatic experiences can make life hard to leave un-stereotyped. Let nobody judge you badly for something that can only be healed by time and love.

and2252, thanks for your answer. I am self-classified as emo... only because I believe that I am highly in touch with my emotions, please make no mistake, I do not complain about my problems, and I do have certain things officially wrong with me (multiple diagnosis of clinical depression at multiple times in my life, as well as autism). I hold no grudge, for it's not your fault, however, please know now that not all emo people are as your stereotype has developed.

Jessy, thank you for your answer. Not all gay men are into interior decorating, and not all men with lisps are gay. Once again, no grudges shall be borne, and know that there are some things outside of people's control... unfortunately, a lisp tends to be a speech disorder, and is difficult to have speech problems eliminated, and can be a life-long process.

cargirldawn, thank you for your answer.
Bobo the strange, thank you for your answer, you were quite thorough with your answer, however I would like to remind you that not all lawyers are like that, but the ones with more experience tend to be like that, because they stop being idealistic, and begin doing what works, at any cost.

Hopefulmom, thank you for you answer. I realize it can be difficult to see life from the perspective of people with different interests at times. Please keep in mind that not all people who listen to heavy metal music listen to it with over 200 decibels. Once again, thank you for you answer.

yes, i believe we are all guilty of it. human nature maybe, but yes. i hate to admit it and i'll probably get slammed for this but i tend to stereotype most black people. i do not mean this in a racist manner, it comes from personal experience in the army....
i was raped by a black man the day i joined the army. i have been terrified of most black men since then. black women do not scare me, but i stereotype them just the same, knowing that one of them could be married to my rapist. so in general, black men scare me, i stereotype them, and hope to never meet up with them in a dark alley for fear of dropping dead from fright. i know this is bad, and i apologize for my lack of understanding and slowness of learning. i don't want to be this way, believe me.

I have stereotyped people from Asian descents not because I'm a racist, but because I was in sales a long time and they were always big time negotiaters. Most sales people would run from them and say the "Too Highs" need help. The sales crew was made up of all races men and women who were straight and gay. Most of these people considered their selves PC, but we all used the stereotype.

How about the stereotype of people that listen to Heavy Metal? My stereotype of them is that they listen to it all the time, so they are bound not to hear anyone or listen to anyone around them. I could be wrong, just an example for me.

My view of lawyers: opportunists out to scam people and leech off of the hardship of others. Dishonest and will stop at nothing to attain what they want, regardless of how many they must deceive and what lies they must make, totally oblivious (because they don't care) to who they have to hurt or crush in the process. All lawyers are liars, they cheat the system and cheat others in every which way they can to their own advantage, especially taking advantage of people who are the most vulnerable.

Emo. They are annoying and to me...emo's are only people who don't have anything wrong with them. (not clinically depressed, not by-polar, etc.) or those that do nothing to better the situations that they are in. (and only complain...and complain..)
