I think the period was Dec.1941/Jan.1942. Their names were Griggs, Spooner and Mundy (Mundey?) and they were captains. I was a lad of 10 and my memory may be a bit hazy. Does anyone know what happened to them, did they survive the rest of the war, are any still alive ? My dad gave up his room to them and slept on the dining table. The rigours of the Japanese Occupation caused his heart condition to worsen and he died towards the end of 1942 here in Singapore.

Well you and I are much the same age(74)These young men to whom you refer as captains. Then almost certainly they'd be at least 24yrs.So today they'd be shaking the life out of 90

You might also check at Regiments.org. I've included the link to the Cambridgeshire Regiment's page; it'll have links to the most recent information sites. Hope this helps, and good hunting.

Whilst I don't disagree with the answer above, the site I quote may be able to assist further (most British Regiments, whether still in existence or not, appear to have their own website)
