Does anyone know if the show was advertised on national television. they said it started in 2004.

It's not a real show. After ANTM was a hit, Tyra Banks wanted to create a men's version, but it didn't even go into production because the network passed on it. I remember reading about it in Entertainment Weekly magazine. There was a show on the Bravo channel called Manhunt, but it did poorly and didn't even last a full season on cable.
