I'm sure I have depression, but I don't know about the suicidal part. I think of it, I think of how I would do it, but at the same time, I would never do it. So..is that doctor worthy?

Suicidality is commonly related to something called "suicide ideation" this means that you think about suicide, how you would do it, when, and maybe where, but you may not actually believe that you would do it. Perhaps a moral belief or the understanding of the consequences your suicide would leave behind prevents you from doing so. However, it is a sign of deep-seated depression and you should seek treatment. Depression itself is, as you say, doctor worthy.

What I would look for in suicidal would be - pondering ending your life, thinking things do not matter anymore. If you can see, these examples are of extream views that people just don't need to conclude. Everyone has value, everyone is unique.

Yes, a doctor is worthy, but so is friends and family. Talk things over.

Think solutions to the problems. They are not going away, but you can face them and make good choices...

oh yes you can!

can too..

I don't think so. When times got tough out here in college when I had a five page paper due the next day and I had'nt even started writing until 6pm of the previous day and I thought I would never get it done in time I definitely thought of jumping off somebody's building but all that is is just a phrase to say how stressed you really are. I would have never actually jumped of a building I would be too scared. If you are at the point that jumping off buildings is scary you are not suicidal. It is those who could careless, those who has gotten so stressed that the thought of jumping off a building soothes them that are suicidal.

Some times diet has a lot to do with depression. Food plays a major role in how one feels. Check a dietitian to make sure you are getting the right amount of nutrients and in the right combinations. Believe me I am not kidding. I suffered from headaches and vertigo for years before finding out recently (45 years later) that I didn't have to. I have very few episodes now and when I do I can usually trace it back to something I ate. Get checked out by a dietitian

Well I am like you...I thought about it, but I never thought of how I would do it...I also thought of ways to kill people and get away with it. All of that is doctor worthy. You can be put on meds for depression that can help with that.

in a word, NO
it's only doctor worthy if you think about it constantly and YOU HAVE A PLAN.

if' you've mapped out the exact time and date and the bridge you're gonna jump off of, then yes, that's note worthy.

we all at one time or another, wish we weren't living anymore. I had a still born son, trust me, i feel that way a lot. i feel like burying myself with him. but at the same time, i have to stop and think that i can't do that and the life does go on. i wouldn't kill myself over it you know

In some ways deppression and stress are good, but if it's to the point where you are thinking of suicide i think (and it looks like every one else does) you should see a doctor or someone you can really trust and talk to.

If you are feeling suicidal you should consult a doctor. A doctor can perhaps help you find the root of the problem and start the healing process

u know you're suicidal if you're thinking about killing yourself constantly. but the major one is if you are like really depressed one day and the next day you are really happy and are giving away your most valuable things to your best friends or something

I've had what I call "Elijah Complex" for the past 2 years since my wife left(divorce 1 year ago). Elijah was afraid for his life, ran away and said "Lord, it is enough". He asked God to take his life, but He didnt. That's all I'll do. I want to go home so bad, but if God doesnt take me, then who am I to argue?
