Why do people want what they cant have? And why do most people not apprecaite what they DO have? (obviously there are exceptions here but i am speaking in general)

That Is how We Evolved ,before there was anything its called Desire , and Fantacy and Ideas to get to the unobtainable , with strif and ambition to acheive your goal no matter what it is // we do it too find our humbleness resting at the end.

I don't know. It's a question I ask myself alot.

I think insecurity is the root of all those problems. Greed and envy.

The person starts telling themself they aren't good enough. Or they have internalized voices in there head, of people who have raised them, and they were raised the same way. Or people who feel just as miserable. And they think there own misery needs these people for company.

Next comes the belief that things are gonna make them better, or at least equal to others. But usually they have a sense that tells them they have to be better. It goes right with the insecurity they secretly feel.

They end up destroying there lives, never finding out what real hapiness is.

Yup. I think Satan is alive and doing well today, in a sense, as a force, I sure do.

I thought it was only men that wanted what they could not have.
As for as appreciation, I am thank for everything including the stars that twinkle at night and the sun that gives off warmth.

The irony is, could you imagine having everything you want, and wanting nothing? I think it is less to do with being selfish and materialistic, and more to do with the basic human urge to be always moving.
