As I was growing up I had a female cat named Angel because she was so white. She died but I really loved that cat and I also loved her name. I figure since my wife took my last name when we got married, she can also change her first name for me as well. I want to start calling her Angel as her real name. I just love this name for a woman too. The only problem is I know her parents are going to have a big time problem with it. Should I just go ahead and tell her to go by Angel anyway or just tell her to go by her old name in front of her parents?

wow, this is a very strange question in fact I'm having a hard time figuring out if you're serious or not!! Anyways even though you are married you have no right to rename your wife!! If you want to kind of use it as a pet name then that should be fine, as long as your wife agrees but you should in no way expect her to change her legal name!

Are you insane? Does your wife want to change her name? If not get a grip and name your child Angel. You can not have her entire identity! She is still a person not a pet, or a toy. Very touching that you loved your cat, and that you love that name, but you seriously need some help. She has a name, and if she wants to keep it let her.

It's nothing wrong with wanting to call your wife Angel
but for her to completely change her name that's crazy.
use Angel as a pet name for her I believe she would like that better

I don't mean to be curt, but SAY WHAT????. Good Lord man, I realize you loved your cat, but do you really think your wife is going to feel special because you want to change her name to that of a beloved departed ANIMAL? I can tell you one thing for sure, if MY husband suggested such a thing, i'd tell him "Sure thing honey, as long as I can change YOUR name to SCRAPPY DEW!" Why don't you just call her " Angel" as a loving gesture? Like instead of Dear, babe, sweetie or honey? I would bet that'd fly just fine, but as a memementomori? I wouldn't even THINK of suggesting that if you don't want to be the next "dearly departed".

You should not substitute your wife for your feelings toward a cat. You should love your wife enough that you also love her name. I recommend getting another pet and naming it Angel or to get over it. It's so trivial!

Relax, people. Our favorite little troll, lucKY, doesn't have a wife. Never did. Never will. Check out his other questions before you waste you time on a serious answer to his hetero problems...

Angel (the cat) is the only p**** this dude has ever known.

Normally some question like this would offend me but since i am a huge cat lover im all for it if your wife is so meek she can't stand up for herself then she deserves to be named after a dog not a cat

your insane in the membrane! first " should i divorce my wife b/c she refuses to shave her legs?"!!! Now this! WoW! you really should get a divorce, because you are tooooo materialistic!!! I think you should have taken her name. She already has a name. The only reason your cat's name was angel was because, IT DIDNT HAVE A NAME TO BEGIN WITH!!! Maybe (God Forbid it!) if you have a child, then do so.(since he/she has not already been called something else their entire life) GOSH!

Good thing it wasn't named Mittens.

(On the off chance that you're serious... Angel is a perfectly acceptable, er, "pet name" for your sweetie. Humphrey Bogart is always calling women "angel" in his movies. Go with that... at least till your wife starts making you sneeze.)
