Really, I'm wondering, is celebrity worship as pervasive as I think it it?

I feel as though they want all the power, but absolutely none of the responsibility that comes along with it. Take Oprah, for example. oh sure, she's done a lot of great things, I won't deny. but she said that when she dies she wants all of her money to go to the children in Africa or something. that sounds so gracious, she's a millionaire/billionare after all. but when you think about it, it's like NO DUH! you won't need all that money when you're dead, so she's not sacrificing anything for it. but yet people continue to think of her as generous, which she is, just not as much as we all would like to think.

I wouldn't recognize Paris Hilton if she were to introduce herself to me. I don't really care or know about the world of celebs except for the blurbs I see online before I get a chance to ignore them.

That said, with great privilege comes great responsibility. People pay them outrageous sums of money because they are in the public eye. As such, what they do is seen and widely regarded as "cool" (Unless your name rhymes with Mom Ruise).

Look at the royal family. They are in the public eye, period. And that used to mean that they walked around like the most scrutinized people in the world--because they are. When celebs get paid insane amounts of money and then say "you're invading my privacy" they haven't really considered why they are so wealthy.

My point (yeah, there is one) is that these people should be contributing to society. They set an example. How many 12 year old girls want to be rich so they can dress like their actress/model heros? How many want to be rich so they can help underdeveloped countries gain global economic status?

The cavaliar frame of mind to some thing as sacred as making love or the objecification of human beings as even with the truth that they are inaminate gadgets. after I study books which incorporates pride and Prejudice, it quite makes me envy the adult males of that aspect who were so chivalrous, sort, and respectful. even with the undeniable fact that the informality of this era is also translated into ease. Ease in expressing one's perspectives, of joking round, of no longer suppressing emotions. also, present day time has a a lot more beneficial deal of freedom than previous cases. Sexism, racism, classism, nonetheless exist yet are dwindling and are a thoughts decrease than interior the faster refered to pride and Prejudice time and ladies human beings now a days ripping aside celeb bodies are reminescent to ladies human beings by all of time; gossiping. As a lady, I evaluate this a lady vice yet i do not blame its beginning upon the 21th century. it truly is quite paradoxical to signify that any society be perfect, because if a society were perfect then it may quite frankly be boring, for that reason eliminating from its perfection. So be content with the dynamic era in which all of us stay. And on each and every occasion an afternoon strikes that you're feeling bombarded by the media and assholes, close your eyes and be greatful that you aren't from now on sure to a corset and performance some precise and some impact over those forces; rights which your ancestors were probable denied.

Being a celebrity has nothing to do with it. People, in general, don't contribute to society. It's called being a waste of skin.
