The WNBA exists because there are women out there who love to play basketball. They love it so much they want to make a career out of it. And America is a country where every person man or female has the right to fullfill their dreams. It is unfair to say that women should not enjoy the same freedoms that men do. The WNBA is a stepping stone for women, it is irrelevent whether or not it makes money or is very popular. Do you really think all professional sports started out making wads of money?

hmmm, let's see maybe because girls should have the right to play basketball in a professional setting. u sound like some sexest pig and guess what just because gilrs arent genetic monsters with huge balls doesnt mean they suck and shouldnt have a wnba. in fact, it's a bit more entertaining when everyone can't dunk and there's a more fair competition going on. u must not even play basketball or ud have some respect for the wnba

To put pressure on other major sports with the goal of bankrupting them. WNBA teams lose a lot of money but a womens baseball or football team would cost far more.

Mostly because a lot of angry women demanded it and promised they'd watch. They obviously haven't delivered, though, because the WNBA has lost money every single year since its inception. In other words, the NBA (the one with all those mean ole men) has been financing the women's teams. The only reason the NBA hasn't yanked the women's teams is because those same angry women would rear their ugly heads again.

Because there are women who love to play basketball and they want to be on TV.. No offense, but the minor leagues of baseball and the NBDL are far better towatch than WNBA.

Because the men didn't want the ladies to play on their team. As you know, if a sport doesn't have a women's team, they are entitled to try out for the men's team. Just like in college football, there are a couple of field goal kickers that are women. The men had to let them play because there isn't a ladies football team
