G'day Deepika,
Thank you for your question.
It depends on your tastes. At the age of 14, you should be at a level where you can tackle adult books as well as teenage fiction.
I would go to allconsuming where you can enter books you like and get recommendations from others who share your tastes. I have attached a link for your consideration.
Seasons regards.

Robin Hobb (aka Megan Lindholm) writes some very good stuff if you like fantasy. The Assassin's trilogy, The Live Ship trilogy and the Tawny Man trilogy (in that order if possible) are excellent choices.
Davinci Code, one of the books of the moment so I expect you've read that but Demons and Angels isn't too bad either if a bit of a slow to get started, it's worth persevering with.
"life of pi" can't remember the authors name, is very good but a bit gruesome in places.
Memoirs of a Geisha is fab. it's fiction but you feel as though it's fact. And if you want a book that will completely alter your perspective on the type of conditions people can survive in Stalingrad (by Anton Beever or something similar) It's fact but it reads like fiction. Amazing what those people lived through. Great bed time reading as well. 2 or 3 pages and I was worn out!

Hi Deepika, I am 13 so our tastes should match. My favourite author is of course J.K. Rowling. Among others my favourites are Agatha Christie, Ian Fleming, Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew etc. You must try Archie comics. They are very funny and are based on school life and friends. Also try Chetan Bhagat's novels. They teach us how to live a good life in a cool, modern and funny way. One of them, Five Point Someone is about the lives of three friend at IIT and about the fun they have and the hardships they face. Read Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts. It's a book of morals and ideals. It's about the author's own life but written as fiction. It's got suspence too. He is a criminal who escaped from jail in Australia, came to Mumbai and joined the Mumbai underworld. It is one of the best books I've read. If you wish to make friends with me then plz mail me at sonu_assam_gr@yahoo.co.in.

My recommendation is "Justin Thyme". Like the Harry Potter series and the Dark Materials trilogy, it's aimed at teens but isn't too simplistic, (at least, for those who enjoy the likes of Pullman or Rowling). It's a fantasy adventure - but also a kind of intriguing whodunit with puzzling clues and hidden messages.
Here's a link to it on Amazon

There's also a website if you need more information.
