NoDear, you have not ruined your life...yet..Actually, you are starting to snap out of it, it sounds like. Which is half of the battle to being a successful adult someday!! So, pat yourself on the b ack. You are recognizing that you will need to work harder, as you have aspirations to be a Dr. and are aware that it WILL take hard work, determination, and yes, GOOD GRADES!!! You have only let yourself down on a few semesters. Thank goodness, you have noticed, and are willing to start putting in the work required to acheive your long term goals! I think what I would do, or would advise one of my Children to do, is make an appointment with your schools career counselor. Tell them, what you have told us. Find out how you can get help to get back on track and caught up on the work you have failed at. Don't worry honey, we ALL make mistakes, and we all sometimes slack at something, you are not alone, or the only one. But, what you should, again, be glad for, and proud of yourself for, is wanting to do better, asking us how to do it etc., Now, follow through, I have all the confindence in the world in you, as you sound like a really smart person, who wants to be a successful adult. You CAN achieve this, by following through, and committing yourself to doing better. You said yourself, that you "might" be able to improve up to mostly A's and B's..and YES!!! It is TOTALLY worth it!!! You cannot imagine how proud of yourself you will be as an adult who is a success and not working at some crummby job like so many people, who didn't follow through. School seems now, like it is forever, but trust me, PLEASE!!! It will end up going really fast, and will end up being one of the shortest times of your life when the schooling is over. Think how nice it will be to help people, and to also be able to afford most anything you want in this world!! I only wish, that when I was your age, I had as much going on as you do!!! I will think of you, and hope for you, that you love yourself enough to do these things and be a success!! You CAN do it!!!

Ruined may very well be in the eye of the beholder. Someone may proclaim ruin at a traumatic event. Others may still see hope. That is a good question though bc it has brought to my attention that I have said someone's life is ruined, when in fact it's not. In a sence, I have spoken a curse over someone's life. I should not be doing that. It's not my place to determine when another's life is ruined. We all have hope in the Lord through every circumstance. So thank you for bringing that up!

Sweetie, no you have NOT ruined your life. It just may be that your class subjects are a little more difficult this year or that you need to change some of your study habits to adjust to the higher level of difficulty. Talk to your parents, to your guidance counselor, to a favorite teacher, and stop being so hard on yourself. Let them know what you are going through because you have so many more postiive options open to you than the ones you listed.
You will go on to high school and get involved in so many wonderful things and learn so much more. You'll find a great college to go to and go on to med school and learn how to become a pediatrician. The big thing is to communicate with someone who can help you before you become too overwhelmed.

Its alright, your life isn't over (I was told the same thing but didn't listen) it happens to everyone.
Listen, I freaked out in last year of middle school too. I got my first C and spent so much time worrying about grades that I couldn't think strait, I couldn't concentrate, and I couldn't focus on my homework or in class. I felt like I was failing and the thing that was causing me to fail was the fear of failure. It was a horrible cycle! I just had calm down to figure out a study method that worked for me, and I had friends that helped me.
Just breathe, relax, and take a step back. Take the rest of this year to find your new study routine, find one that works for you and have your parents and sibling if you have and respect that new routine. If you need more time to yourself to study, if you need to write on your walls(on paper of course or bath crayons in the bathroom shower) anything that puts you at ease while studying. If you start getting stressed about homework take a moment and change your mind to somthing else but not television or computer because they can become addicting. Don't be embarassed to ask for help and be persistent in asking to understand somthing. What takes a moment to ask can save hours of misunderstanding. Ask to go over a test with a friend or your teacher even if the grade opportuinity has passed it will help with the next chance. You'll always have another chance! Keep a notebook of quotes and questions so you don't forget and please relax and don't stress and don't feel overwhelmed! It takes work twice as long to study when you are anxious and antsy than when you are calm. It also is twice as hard to remember.
Read something from a fantasy book before bed otherwise in your frantic state you might have horrible time trying to sleep and nightmares of homework!
Ask your parents to see if you have a problem with anxiety, its not uncommon and there might be things that can help you relax.
If you ever need any help studying you can drop me a line on messenger.
When I started high school things got better, and I got pretty good grades through high school. I even graduated this last June top of my class in college, so yeah life goes on after bad grades. Just don't give up alright? You're a bright intelligent young adult in a slump right now. No your life isn't over. Working really hard is worth it because it will make things easier later on. Yes you and everyone else's brains burn out on occasion!

short of killing someone or getting pregnant there is nothing, I repeat NOTHING, that you can do at your age to ruin your life. Life has ups and downs.
Concentrate on making high school better. Your grades in ele. school have little impact on your overall life.
You might try to figure out why your grades have dropped. Are you fearful of high school? Do you worry about growing up? Is it some other factor?
Everyone has several times in their life when they feel it is the worst it can get, you are not alone.
Life gets better and when you have a daughter in eighth grade, you will wonder if you were ever that young.
Good luck to you and remember that someone cared enough to take the time to write this.

Well as you get older school becomes harder...but don't worry, you'll get through it. You'll adjust to it and it will work out. The same thing happened to me at 8th grade but i'm in 11th now and i'm doing alot better =) just hang in there...maybe you should try to get some tutoring to help you if you dont understand your school work. But also dont give up, if becoming a pediatrician is your dream will then STRIVE FOR IT! =D believe in yourself and you can do it!
and as for the second person who answered..i think you confused pediatrician with veternarian. Pediatrician is a childrens doctor and a veternarian is an animal doctor.

Don't worry although it may seem like grades are the most important thing right now. It isn't. Take it from a girl who worked her butt off to be in her high school's top ten. You can succeed and I believe that if you want it this bad you will! What I am most concerned about is that you, I assume, have been working hard and are not understanding your subjects. Ask your parents, teachers, and even friends for extra help. Ask what works well for them to study. Note cards and typing my notes from in class has worked wonders for me. Good luck!

Take some advise from a grandma.
I raised my own kids and now keep my grandkids a lot too.
Just by you submitting this question tells me how intelligent you are, and assertive to the situation.
YOU' are the one who can make changes to your grade scores.
YOU' are the one who can make a difference to your future.
And 'NO' your mid-term grades will not determine your future as a Pediatrician, but if you continue to make 'poor ' grades then it quite possibly could make it harder to get into college.
It's 'never' too late to dig in and improve your grades.
I will say a prayer for you, so you won't be so worried and have
the drive to get better grades.
"YOU CAN DO IT"!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW you are very hard on yourself! chill.
You are very dramatic. How about just study more. Talk to your teachers and ask how you can improve.
It is worth working hard in school, but it isn't worth being so hard on yourself that you are ready to become homeless at age 13.
If in the long run you can't be a doctor, there are lots of other jobs in the medical field.
Can you imagine if every one in this world gave up so easily?
Fake insanity? LIke I said.......... you are very dramatic
Chill,...

Worry will only reinforce your decision/image of failure. First step STOP WORRYING...second seek help from your teachers! They will slowly become one of the most important resourses in your life for help with school and life. I am a High School Graduate and College Student and I can tell you that 8th grade is hard but 9th-12th will be the ones that can make you grow and step forward in your path...decide to do better and you will...Have faith you aren't ruined yet...remember Patch Adams (that movie with Robin Williams) he never did well but he became a terrific doctor.
