It's difficult to control your dreams. I won't say impossible, because when it comes to the human mind, there are almost no limits.
But this is something I've noticed: when I think about something I really want, but push the thought away and repress it, I am very likely to dream about it that night or very soon. The more vigorously I push the thought away, and especially if it is accompanied by strong emotion, such as guilt, the more likely I am to have the dream, and the more vivid it will be.
Maybe this method will work for you too.

Unfortunately, we can't control what we dream about. Sometimes something we've done, been bothered about, or someone we've seen will trigger a dream about that situation or person, but only because it is readily available in our memory. For example, the other day I saw my ex, whom I haven't seen in 8 years, and that night, he was in my dream. I didn't spend all day thinking about him, yet there he was. People think all different kinds of things about dreams but I believe that its just our sub-conscious and that's something we can't really manipulate. Sorry.

Dreams are a way of sorting out the mess of things that attack our senses during the day. If you are not dreaming about a thing it could be because you have already sorted it out during your waking hours or... You have dreamed about it and don't remember it. About 90% of our dreams are not remembered. usually we remember the last dream we have.

Most of us don't remember our dreams.
Sometimes we dream about the last thing we thought about before falling asleep.

Our dreams are our subconsciousness trying to make sense of life and solve issues.
Don't waste your whole day thinking about something.

It's true that can happen. I always have dreams about my work because I'm there so much! I don't think you really choose what you dream about so consciously! It is up to brain though, so maybe one night you'll get lucky......
