Do you mean that when someone hurts us why do we get revenge? If so, you have the power to just be the bigger person and let it go. Sometimes the only control you can retain in this type of situation is to make your choice how to handle it. Letting it go will really make you feel better without looking like a vengeful nasty person. That will make the offender feel glad they did it in the first place!
