<>Odds are, if it's not getting gas, the fuel line is plugged from getting sawdust in the tank when opening the cap. See if you can remove the tank and flush it out and check the fuel inlet for plugs.

you may need to buy a carb kit and then take the carb apart carefully remembering where everything goes. If you lay the parts down left to right as you take it apart and replace them right to left you should get it back together properly. Do not remove the little domed silver part about the size of a pencil eraser. Try to gently blow through the little openings when you have it apart.
If your chainsaw was sitting for a few months with old gas in it (gas seems to partially gel after it sits for several months) that is probably the problem with it not getting gas. There is also a little filter in your gas tank that may be plugged or one of the plastic fuel lines could have hardened and broke You might as well change the sparkplug while you are doing it. You could take it to a lawnmower repair shop they should be able to fix it but tell them exactly how much you can afford to spend on it before they start working on it. If you only have $25 - $35. you probably won't be able to get it done. Good Luck.

1 check your fuel filter try to start 2 turn your fuel {not the air }screw all the way in counter clockwise
3 turn the fuel screw back clockwise 1 1/2 complete times{so 1-360 and1-180}try to start 4 do the same for the air screw try to start
5 if that does not do it. take the carb off{very easy}take it apart carefully not to lose the screen or rip the gaskets if you do the sell kits for about $5.00} spray it with carb cleaner.put it back together start it up.
MAKE SUR YOU HAVE GOOD GAS if not THEN DRAIN TANK AND FUEL LINE> THIS SHOULD BE # 1

Sounds like old gas! Tip it upside down & drain the old gas out. Clean the spark plug , refill with new gas & give it a rip.

take it to a pro, it might be a pinhole in the fuel line, those can be annoying, it ll fire up for a minute then die. easiest to get a pro. if the saw you use is comfortable for you, i ve got a stihl 310 , have had to replace 2 fuel lines. you get it from leaving gas in them too long

Clean out your gas filter, and air filters, make sure the tube , or hose isn't clogged.(the one that runs from the gas chamber)If you'd rather have someone else look at it, go to a lawn mower shop.
