I am going foriegn exchange for a year next year, and I was thinking about where I want to go. I want to go somewhere with a good exchange rate, nice weather and a place where a 15/16 year old can have a good time, like nightlife or something. I Live in California so I was thinking I may want to learn Spanish, because i dont know if i will be able to apply portugese when i come home.but I hear Brazil is great. I also play the guitar, so somewhere with a great music scene would be a bonus, but mainly I just want to have fun. also, how are the schools in these countries? as far as hours you have to be there and such.

Spain is good but the euro is a strong currency, so you be limited in your expenses, while chile is great, good beaches, good winter sport, the people is nice both argentina and chile have an european air about their cities, the country side in argentina is breath taken, chileans are very friendly their schools are great and their youths are animated and well around the same for argentina, so stick between chile or argentina and you will learn spanish ala mode. and their friendships will lasted a life time.

I don't know much about the universities in Spain but I've heard from some who have studied there. I suggest Spain though, to learn the language. I heard Spain has some good nightlife (food, fashion, architecture) and you can always hop on a train or a plane or drive to other European cities. I heard of the University of Salamanca (Universidad de Salamanca) is quite well known and Salamanca itself is like a university town. Another I've heard of is Complutense University of Madrid (Universidad Complutense de Madrid).

Spain uses the euro and so far the dollar=euro exchange rate varies but not as high as Americans hope it to be, just like the British pound. So it really depends what you're looking for or where you think you might feel more comfortable with.
