I know there is mold in the tank, we are cleaning it out, but is there anything that could have caused this? It's not like a freckle spot sort of thing. Is this an illness I can't find info on? Please help! :(

There are few books on amphibian diseases, but if the 'freckles' seem to be spreading, or change color...get some neomycin (available at pet store in a product for Hamsters called 'Dri-tail'.gently apply the Neomycin twice a day...keep tank very clean...wash branches, rocks, etc in bleach solution...rinse well. remove substrate (gravel, peat moss, etc) and using paper towels or even newspapers until the infection clears. Remember also that some animals including White's Tree Frogs develop spots as they mature, but in any case, keep the tank clean and watch your pet.
