Go with Mechanical engineering or electrical engineering. as first two choices with minor in Chemical engineering. work in a wider range of industry, construction etc with the first two degrees. then if you want to specialize in designing software for those fields.

Doesn't matter. I don't have a degree in any of them. I am a software engineer and a mechanical engineer and was a chem major in college. Software engineering is very frustrating. Mechanical Engineering is a blast. Designing parts in a CADD environment doesn't ever get old. Chemistry is fun, from what I remember, but it's been years since I've dealt with it. I recomend writing some code and seeing how you like it. Get Autodesk Inventor 10, and design some machines... see how you like it. Ummm... chemistry, I don't know. Make some Meth or mix vinegar and baking soda or something. Good luck buddy.

BTW... Like a dozen people in my ANG unit are EE's. I'm not sure that Electrical Engineering is the way to go because I'm pretty sure that only 2 of them have jobs.
