Brother, your choice is good but in my experience don't take the risk to buy a En field motor cycle because it is very costly to use means the maintenance cost and fuel cost, if you can overcome this things then go ahead better buy an used one then go to a work shop only En field maintaining work shop, and tell them to completely dismantled your bike then refit again pls note the following things.
1. Please use the best wiring kit, because the En field having big am pear so use good gouge wire.
2. Increase your crank wait approximately 9kg to 11kg this will help you for a smooth riding.
3. Use the Machismo Seat for better riding.
4. Use the best suspension kit.
5. Use the original cables like accelerator, clutch etc...

when 2 years back I reconditioned my bike its approximately 12,000/- and i have done all these things, only you have to care that the Engine side and one important think you have to stay in the work shop when your bike reappearing otherwise they put some fake things in your bike ok. So best of luck and wish a nice ride for you. always wear helmet ok.

your friend.

If you have not driven the Enfiled ever before then go for USED one first. As enfield is not an ordinary bike, its very heavy to handle but joyful ride. 1990 model wont give you any problem, even Enfield 1988 will not give you any trouble. But do one thing when you purchase it take some mechanic with you to verify the engine status etc.

Get a new one, but be careful about breaking it in. Don't exceed 50 kmh for the first 2000km or so, than slowly work your way up to top speed. It's a great bike but you will inevitably have to do more maintenance than with the new Japanese rides. In my opinion it's worth the effort.
