The Clapper. Or, a gift certificate to a restaurant. Or, dvd's of tv shows. Our grandma was like that, and she returned everything. Once my cousin bought something from the cosmetics counter and gave her the free gift with purchase, which was a lighted compact. Could she use a magnifying glass for reading? Specialty stores or even jewelry stores carry real pretty ones.

First of all, you don't need to buy her anything -- just spend some time with her and listen/record her memories and family experiences -- because ... one day ... after she has passed on from this life, you realize that this wonderful lady had lots of things that you would want to know about your family history, but you were so concerned about what to buy that you missed HER greatest gift EVER to you -- the thoughts, the memories of individuals in your family line that have passed on long ago ...
