Build the starship enterprise.. That way I'd have all the technology needed to make the world a better place. A device that creates food out of thin air, a spaceship to find new worlds(just in case), teleportation, etc. Just as long as it doesn't get into the wrong hands I guess.

Speaking of absolute power worldwide or just nationally?
Nationally, I'd increase the level of education that all Americans have to receive. There is no reason the richest nation should be one of the dumbest.
Globally...eesh...I'd have to say increase education all over too. My reasoning is that evil dictatorships may cease to exist, people would be better equipped to provide themselves with food and clean water, worldwide population would decrease, standards of living would increase, infant mortality would decrease, hopefully genocides could stop, Western nations could no longer take advantage of those in the periphery, and with the entire world population’s education increase we could find better sources of energy. If I left anything big out…education would help that too.
