I want to buy a new car for my wife as a Christmas present. Should I make it a total surprise, or should I take her for car shopping so that she can pick and choose what she wants? What is your opinion?

Women love surprises and this would be a fantastic one! If you know what kind of car she wants, go for it. If not, maybe drop hints to find out. Out of the blue, maybe after watching a car commercial, ask her what car she likes best and why and go from there. =)

I would try to make it a surprise. Women love surprises. If you have any idea of what she likes maybe talk to a dealer, get a deal and leave the car on the lot with the option to change and give her the keys so she can decide if that is what she wants.

I am sure you know what your wife likes in cars. Most women will comment on how nice certain cars are. Now if you put a giant big red bow on it, make it a total surprise she will love you for it! My husband did the same thing for me, and I can tell you that from personal experience, she will never forget that day!

Have you had any discussions about what kind of car she might like? It would be a shame if you thought she wanted a chic little convertible when what she really wanted was a reliable, roomy minivan. Another thing you can do is to take her car shopping "for fun" and see what she responds to. Then surprise her on X-mas!

We women love surprises, in this case dont let her know, try to find out by asking her if she ever gets a car what would she get, what color, ask her as if asking a hypothetical question. the u get to get her the car that she wants, surprise her at the same time and she will be happy and so will you...good luck..happy holidays.

buy her a car as a surprise with the provision in the deal that you can exchange it for another as long as it doesn't have 250 miles on it and is in showroom condition. Many dealers will allow this.

let her choose ....how sweet of you! OR you can find out what type of car she would choose if she could have one and then surprise her by buying it!

the thought is great,but i would let her make that decision,because of the cost factor.if you make a mistake,it could cost you.mine had a black car when i married her so i up graded to a nicer black car,she hated it.the car dealership let me trade it for a silver one;a silver one?????? also,i had five daughters and would take them to the mall and feed them in the food court,and guess what,they all ordered something different.i would sure play it safe.

My opinion is you should take her shopping for the car as she probably has different needs and ideas to you

Maybe take her somewhere romantic to suggest it
