Stop to think that their may be an underlying issue here. Maybe she's doing it for a reason. I use to substitute teach in a high school and a senior, yes a senior, in high school was still playing with her "baby dolls" in private. Then we came to find out that she had been sexually abused and that mentally she never aged past the year she was abused at 8. So mentally she was 8 and wanted to play with her dolls.
Now, I'm NOT saying that this is this girl's case but you may want to calmly ask if everything is okay.

Yeah, that's definitely too old to play with Barbies. If she collects them, then that's fine because collectors usually put them up on a shelf and just look at them. But, she shouldn't still be playing with them. Imaginary play usually stops before the teenage adolescence stage.
Solution? Maybe you could encourage your friend to try out for drama at school. Tell her that she seems to be a real creative and imaginative person, so she'd probably be good at it.

I played with barbies until I was 14 but at that point I was starting to feel really embarressed about it.Every one is different and I do not think its wrong to play with barbies even in your adult years especially if you are a doll or barbie collector.There is nothing wrong to holding on to our inner child just as long as we realize our maturity and growing responsibility in the world.

Would it be less weird to you ! If she was screwing the football team?? On a scale of 1-10 ,barbies 2,football team 9 !!

Let her be, at least she isnt out trying to get into trouble. I know some adults whom still love barbies. You are never to old for anything!!! Let her have fun.

have you ever thoguht your friend is mentally disabled? My sister is. She is 27 & stiill playes with barbies. Though she may be an adult, she has a brain of a child.

I am 15...and I even make them clothes!!
it's just fun and a good way to spend time w/ lil sisters!I enjoy it!!
