My son was almost 9lbs. at birth and 22in.. Cute as a button...not a rolly polly baby in the least bit. He's a BIG one. But not really fat, mostly long and solid. He's in 9-12 month clothes though.

I'm EXCLUSIVELY breastfeeding. No supplements yet (cereal, water, formula, juice, baby food)...he obviously is not missing a meal! So, I guess the question is...should I be concerned by his rapid growth?

(P.S. his dad is a 6'6 football player lol)

I guess based on the other answers only a mother who birthed a nine pound boy would understand. I had two boys both over 9 punds at birth and they went up in diaper size fast. It evens out. Also I find Huggies to be the smallest brand, pampers seem bigger. My boys are 5 and 4 now and perfectly normal (not obese although a little taller than most in their class). Sounds like you have a football player in the making. My doctor also said that breast fed babies tend to put on weight more at first and bottle babies later. You shouldnt worry though when he starts walking you will see him slim down really quick. Hope this helps.

My daughter when she was 3 months, she was in a size 2...she weighed 9 pounds 4 and a half ounces at birth and 22 inches long so i can sympatheize with you. she is now 8 years old, very tall and thin (not sure the exact height though) and 49 pounds so do not worry about it. Once he starts being mobile and walking around, his weight will even out . My son who is now 10 months weighed 7 and a half pounds at birth and and is now 18 pounds fits into a size 3 luvs and a size 2 pampers swaddlers at night...go Figure!!! I found with my son, huggies sucks...they are smaller than the other brands. They do not follow the weigh limits good with the way them diapers fit. Congralutions and enjoy your lil one

LOL. My son is 9 weeks and wears size 4's as well. He's 15 lbs now. I am also exclusively breastfeeding. My doctor didn't believe me when he asked. He's not fat, just big. It gets kind of hard sometimes when he wants to be walked around because he's cranky or something because your arm and back start to hurt. It's worth it though.

Normal. My youngest was in size 3 diapers at 4 months which was the same as my 3 yr old oldest. My youngest weight 21 lbs at 4 months and now he's in 4T/5T pullups and he's now 3 1/2 yrs. As long as the pediatrician didn't seem concerned at any of the wellbaby's than don't worry. Perfectly normal.

Huggies diapers fit small anyways in my experience. My boyfriend bought a box accidentaly and they are suppose to be for babies up to 15 lbs..my baby is 11lbs 15 ounces and they are to small and the poop leaks all over because of it. Unfortunatly. But other then that any growth is good growth and you are probalby just going to have a large child.

Hon your baby is just fine! I also breastfeed.. and they get MUCH bigger! Its because they use every drop we get them... (now, I said they use it... that does include when they pee all over us... LOL) You should not be concerned at all... just know your body is doing its job well! Your son will slow down, (I am still waiting for my 9 month old to..but they say it will happen..LOL) My now 2 year old was my biggest (9pds 13 oz @ birth) and breastfed... but now he is my little runt... he is only in the 25th percentile for height and 10th for weight... Your boy is fine.. maybe getting ready to follow in daddy's footsteps???

My daughter wore size 4 at 2 years.

My niece was in size 4 at 8 months.

All kids are different, and you do have to take a look at the parents. Kids tend to follow parents genes.

If your worried about it consult your dr at his next appt.

My 13 month old is in size 4 and has been since he was 7 months.

3 months...you should have a doctor visit scheduled soon. Just ask when you go. I wouldn't be all too concerned since you are breastfeeding.

Good luck!

almost all of toddlers sprout their first tooth while they are between 4 and seven months of age. The final tooth to seem (the 2d molars, chanced on interior the very lower back of the mouth on the right and backside) have in lots of circumstances began getting into place with the aid of your toddler's 2d birthday. with the aid of age 3, your baby could have an entire set of 20 toddler tooth, which shouldn't fall out till his everlasting tooth are waiting to commence coming in, around age 6. wish i helped!
