Generally, you start to show somewhere around the 20th week. It is a very slow start, around 13-15 weeks you can feel your hardened and enlarging uterus. Then it slowly grows until around 20-25 weeks, when it begins to bulge to the point that your clothes will most likely not fit anymore, time for those lovely maternity clothes. Then, by 29-31 weeks, you are becoming very pregnant looking, and no explanation is needed after that!!

Now, some very small women hardly show, and some women are overweight making it difficult to tell. There are some that show earlier and others later just because they are built differently, but you seem to be aware of that anyway based on the tone of your question.

Hope that helped:)

Well every pregnancy is different, but between 4-6 months on average, it also depends on the sex of the child. With everyone of my boys started showing between 2-3 months, and with my girls is was closer to 6 months.
No it is not good for the health of the baby for the mother to be losing weight during pregnancy.

When expectant moms start to show depends on what kind of shape the mom is in before she gets pregnant and how many times she has been pregnant. First-time moms who are thin may not show until around 20 weeks. Good muscle tone tends to hide pregnancy. Super-fit moms aren't the only ones who may show later. Obese people don't show until they deliver.
Most women show by 20 weeks. Moms who have already had children tend to show earlier due to stretching from the previous pregnancy. If that's the case, look for your bump to be on display as early as 12 to 18 weeks. Fetal movements are also follow the same. Most 2nd time moms feel movement sooner than those who aren't. Bigger women don't feel it as soon either.

if she is very skinny than she will show very soon like within 2 - 3 months. i have 3 kids and i showed earier with each one i had. if it is her first than she could go longer without showing. it is also very common to loose weight during the first three months. i lost 2-3lbs because i was so sick and nothing sounded good. this does not harm the baby because it does not need as much from the mother now as it will in the second and third trimester. don't worry she will regain it and more during the second trimester.

That varies. My cousin didn't really show until she was a little over 5 months. My aunt had a bump by the time she was 4 months. Every woman is different.

I remember that my hips and waist gave way and I had to start wearing maternity jeans at about 8 weeks.
I come from a family of women with tiny waists.
But in saying that even though I lost the hips and waist early, my tummy wasn't really big until the last couple of weeks.
We are all different so it just depends.

around 3 /1/2-4 months. I show early. My uterus pushes my gut out ( I have a short waist) and so I show early (6-8 weeks). At week 12 your uterus actually moves up and out. Then it is not your gut being pushed forward, that hard spot is actaully little baby. After your tummy is hard, then it will start to grow. Like I said, I have a very short waist and my tummy gets hard at about 5-7 weeks. but at week 12 the uterus goes up and out. So for most women it is after that...

usually after the 3rd month theres a bit difference in how the tummy is.

and you can loose weight easily in the first trimester. i'm on my 13th weeks and in the past 2 weeks i've lost a couple of pounds. all together its been about 10 pounds. from what my doc said its perfectly safe as long as its not about a pound a day. but don't take my word.

if your very concerned about the weight you're losing you should speak to your doc about it to see what you can do.
