Because not all women sleep around and don't know who the father of their babies are. Some women are actually responsible and wait until they are married or in a stable relationship before getting pregnant. Why should women that know 100% who the father of their baby is be forced to pay several hundred dollars just because some women can't take precautions?

Well, there should be a Trust and Relationship between a Mother and father that would cause them to have a child together. It isn't unscientific it is called Trust. As far as doing it automatically that is a violation of ones privicay and Word. If You say hey this is my Child and I got pregnant by thi sperson, then that is all the Proof needed.

Well, first of all you don't have to check the mother. It's pretty obvious who gave birth to the child. Second of all, who would pay for it? Why should I, who have only ever had sex with my husband and he only with me, pay to have yet another unnecessary test done when I have a baby? Or if tax dollars pay for it why should I pay for someone else's promiscuity? The fact is most of us can pin down who the dad is of our kids. Those who can't can pay to have the test done.

Sometimes there isn't a father present is one reason and sometimes people choose not to. It's the business of the couple, not of the state. Don't you think they run our lives enough?

If the father is present, they take a blood sample and compare blood types. DNA testing is extremely expensive for a hospital to do. That's why they only do it upon request.
