Your wife will be fine. I found some sites for you to read over so that you can relax and enjoy this time.
Foods to avoid are:
unpasteurised milks
soft, ripened cheeses (varieties such as brie, camembert, and similar blue veined varieties)
ice-cream from soft whip machines (wrapped or block ice-cream is fine)
patés — all types
raw and undercooked eggs (thoroughly cook eggs until both the white and yolk are solid)
liver and liver products
mayonnaise (homemade)
shark, marlin and swordfish should be avoided and tuna restricted to two medium cans or one fresh steak per week. This follows concerns about mercury in these fish and also applies to women who are breastfeeding or intending to become pregnant.

She should have a well rounded diet, but let her eat what she wants...within reason. She will have some pretty bizarre cravings over the next months and it is better to go with them than fight them, she will not be satisfied. The doctor will help with diet and pre natal vitamins....
Congrats and best wishes for a healthy baby!

pregnancy is not a disease. I am sure she is fine. i occasionally eat some mercury fish myself. I have cut back alot of course, but she will be fine. With my first baby I got drunk quite a few times before I found out and was on some meds that were serious for a fetus... When i found out I was preg. I quite and she was fine. celebrate. Don't worry

She will be fine. Many of us women have ate these things during pregnancy and the babies came out fine. However, to much of anything can be harmful whether pregnant or not.
