My, only guess would have to be, on all thier false promises. The only thing these people care about is #1 thier money, #2 is thier face time and #3 listening to themselves talk. Americas lower classes are in trouble. What else is new. The Dem's feed on these people of low income, little or no education. The Dems would not have a platform if it weren't for these people. So what they do to get these people to vote is tell them, it's ok not to have a job because we will take care of you. It's ok that you have no food to feed your faimily, we will take care of you, it's ok you don't have medical insurance for your faimily, we will take care of you. The Democrats would have nothing if it weren't for these people dependent on the government to provide for them. Damn, if you told me I didn't have to work and that you were going to take care of me and my faimly, hell I'd vote for you too. Don't you see? If not for all the promises for beter social programs, they would have nothing. Wake up!

Never heard them say anything like what your saying. I do think the Reps would like to take away many programs that help regular people get back on their feet after hard times. Sure there is a problem with a very small percentage of Americans that take advantage of "government handouts" but I don't think the majority of the people who do need to help should suffer because of the few. To answer the question, I think the dems made the comeback due mostly to corruption as of late mainly within the Republican party(other than Iraq of course).

Typical conservative pessimist. And this is why you lost - failure to acknowledge reality, negativity. Take a look at the exit polls. The higher the education level, the more Democrat the vote was. Yes, the poor vote more Democrat too. But, if not for all the empty promises of the Republicans, the Republicans would have nothing......oh wait, that is what they have. You wake up!

Well dude you pretty much covered it. I believe that it wasn't so much that the Democrat's won as it was the Republicans lost. Why did they lose, because they acted like Democrat's. But lets face the hard realities of the truth here, neither party is going to do one thing more or less than they think it will take to keep them in power. If a hundred million citizens are telling them what to do and whats going to happen if they don't, they will listen.

I have been watching this process for a long time, and it runs in cycles. Neither party will ever stay in control. We Americans get bored too easily and want change right now. I am betting that the Devil (Hillary) will take office in 2008.

The democrats won because the people were tired of one party rule and republican corruption as well as the war in Iraq.
