I wear a lot of vintage clothing and I have a lot of skirts that I would like to wear throughout the winter. I know that women did not wear colored stockings in the 1940's and most tights I find are colored (brown, blue, black, red, etc.). I found a pair of fishnet tights (which I know they did wear back then) in nude to wear with my skirts. I know that now-a-days fishnets have a bit of a stigma with them and only certain types of girls wear them. If you saw a woman wearing nude colored fishnet stockings, what would you think? Would you automatically assume that she was a little wild because of the fishnets or would it not matter because of the subtle color?

Fishnets are perfectly acceptable for daytime wear, assuming you follow a few guidelines. Nude fishnets are fine anytime. Black fishnets should be a tighter weave, & worn with a knee-length (or longer) skirt. If you aren't completely comfortable with the black fishnets, you can wear them with boots, so that just an inch or two shows between the boot and your skirt.

No I actually wear fishnets with a wool skirt and tall knee high leather boots to work. I work at Banana Republic which is suppose to be pretty conservative and we are carrying fishnets and not to mention I have gotten so many compliments on them too.

Wear them!!! I love nude fishnets because they're not as obvious as the coloured ones. Anyway, the only stigma would be assigned to coloured(especially black ones). You remember the shock on peoples face when antbody mentioned black lingerie in old movies and shows....lol

as long as the weave of the fishnets is small you should be fine with and of them no matter the color. wear it with a skirt and some boots or even heels....I see ladies in my office wear the fishnets often....they dont look cheap, actually very sexy

my gf is the same way, she has allot of the pencil skirt things that go to her knees, she wears nude nets and it doesn't look skanky, since the nets are nude it is not so in your face, and since the skirt is longer it gives the whole look a classier appeal

Heck no, there are many styles of clothing coming back in. Wear what you feel good in, and to heck with the people who don't approve. I think it would be cute!

What colour are the tights? in the event that they're black, then i might definatly no longer placed on them with brownshoes, attempt black, silver, crimson, or white footwear. As for the skirt, i might say approximately 8-10 in. in length, and in black. placed on a blouse to verify your footwear (or footwear to verify the blouse (-:)

I make no automatic assumptions. I would never wear them, I can tell you that. Actually, I lied before. I make tons of automatic assumptions. I would think you were pretty cool, maybe.
