Truly, the way to succeed in theatre is to be someone who HAS to do it, who can't imagine doing anything else. You can always keep in touch with friends by email, IM, cell and during breaks, and you'll make new friends, too. But the the theatre world is for people who are completely dedicated to it. Maybe you should consider pursuing local theatre and dance opportunities, so you can do theatre and still keep your friends. That way, you can see if you like it.

Let's look at this realistically.
Do you have an agent? If not, you're not going to get an audition for any Disney Channel shows, period. And for that matter, "the Disney Channel" is not a junior high school play; they don't have open auditions and hope that people show up. The producers and casting directors for each show cast individual roles from actors submitted by certified agents.
It's doubtful you have an agent, because if you did, they'd want to send you out for more than one thing, and not living in Los Angeles would be a major impediment to that.
Now, let's assume you have an agent and you've somehow gotten cast in a show on the Disney Channel. Do you really think the producers are going to fly you into town and put you up for six months or more during rehearsals and filming just because you'll miss your friends?
I have to further assume you're a teenager who hasn't done much of anything professionally or even in school. My best advice? Forget the Disney thing. The shows are simplistic and badly written and directed. Study theatre and acting and learn to separate the good from the bad. Aim your sights higher than bad TV. If, after training, you still have no choice but to act, you'll basically have to move to New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Austin, or someone where there's an acting industry.

Well yes, if you plan on making the commitment that is what it takes you will have to give up a lot of things. A decision only you or your parents and the folks at disney can make.

Yes. I worked at a casting agency last spring, and you have to be ready to go at a moment's notice. Therefore, be living in the area. It's a stressful life... good luck!
