Hey my name is M'Lyn. I think its kind of cool but sometiems people make fun of it because my mom made it up. But I didnt pick it. So what do u think? Would u name ur baby M'Lyn or maybe something like it?
If u dont like made up names, do u at least think it sounds good?
I was wanting to know what people think. Because my sister is having a baby and said it's a dumb name so she wants 1 that isn't nething liek it.

Yea she got the idea from the movie but didnt like the spelling because it was after my aunt named Lyn. With just 1 L.

I like it. Did she name you after sally field in the movie "steel magnolia's"? My fav movie of all time.
I like your name, it is different. It's not a dumb name. I like unique names rather than common/popular names

Hi M'Lyn- Lyn is better. U know in our workplace the M' (M & apostrophe is an abbrev Maam. Thus, ur name sounds Maam Lyn).
Made up name is cute because of the underlying meaning when it was made up.
I don't know if this is a welcome idea for u. But I did name my children based on how I feel towards them during my pregnancy.
For my eldest a girl I named her Justin Tiffany which means Righteous of fair (Justin) God's manifestation or appearance (Tiffany), u see she was conceived out of infertility work up.
My son who was conceived 5 mos after my eldest was indeed a miracle because I thought I'll have difficulty having another child so I named him Antoine Matthew which means "beyond price or invaluable (Antoine) and Gift from the Lord (Matthew).

Most made up names i really dont like though, a lot of them are weird and yes most would get bullied.
There are lots of common names though and if you want to be different and stand out choose a less common one or yes make one up - just as long as its not real weird!

Well, your mom picked it out special just for you... yes Mom's can go overboard when naming their children- some even have their names changed... but try to find why she liked it so much, and what kind of meaning it has to her. Your sister was very rude saying that to you... she sounds a lot younger than you-not very mature. I'm a little indiffrent on my name... I love my middle name, but not too fond of my first... but my mom loved it, and it's special because she chose it and thought it fit me.
Your name is fine, but if you really truly hate it, then have it changed... but it's what makes you unique.

I had an Asian neighbor who pronounced her name muh-Lynn. I don't know how she spelled it, but your name is a real name it's just probably spelled differently! I like it because it's different but not ghetto. My cousin just named her daughter Precious Diamond so I'm thinkin' that you got named pretty good kid.

I wouldn't name my child that, I'm old fashioned. I like easy, simple names. I want to name my children Lacey and Jacob. Yeah, it does sound okay if you don't look at the spelling because that throws you off a lot.

i think its very neat...and who cares what your sister thinks (at least your name is unique and gets you noticed) and why would she want to name her baby your name lol? just let her choose a name for her baby...its HER baby who cares lol its no sweat off your back next time she says something about it tell her how much you like her, she probably just says it cuz deep down inside she really has insecurities of her own! lol but i like it and i would probably name my baby that, but i already have names picked out lol
