And the question is? It was written by Grieg, either a Swedish or Norweigan classical composer. Believe it or not, in the mid-1960's at the height of the British Invasion, a group called Sounds Incorporated had a hit record with it. It was a bigger hit in England than it was here.

It's been redone by numerous artist from classical to metal, but the most popular version is by Savatage circa 1986 appx. Who by the way makes up a 1/2 of the now Trans Siberian Orchestra.
