Do you like the Romans? Greeks? Old West? Civil War? What is your favorite and why? Me, I like anything before the Renaissance the best. Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Byzantium, everything. But I love all of History.

I personally dig the greek, roman especially, then up to the renaissance like you said. After the renaissance it just doesn't seem like history to me. I dont know. I like the craziness of Old things and it surprises me every time when they are actually true. One thing I do not like is US history. I find it boring. I mean, to actually know that valentines day comes from the roman holiday lupercalia where men would smear goat's blood on themselves and chase women in thongs....I couln't make something like that up if I tried

Out of all of history I love American history the best. I love to study from the British colinization of Roanoke to the American Civil War and then from about Teddy Roosevelt's Presidency to the assassination of JFK.

I love learning about all of history that is why I was a history major in college. I took a lot of different classes but my main focus was American.

I love the Cold War and the histories of America, Europe, and Russia leading up to it. I think it's important to study the lead-up and climax of the closest humanity has come to ending it all. Plus, as a historian I appreciate all of the "unsolved mysteries" that have the potential to be solved as documents are newly released by governments.

Mine is pretty specific. Although I love to learn about African slavery here in the U.S., my favorite is about free African Americans in North Carolina during the colonial and antebellum period.

I've been doing research on this for the past almost 7 year on identifying and documenting who they were. I really didn't think there were so many of them, but in the 1860 census, there were over 30,000!

I think this will be a life-long project!

I'm personally quite fond of the medieval/early modern time period in Europe. Especially theatre, religion, and literature (I read some 12th century Norman (French/British) romance poetry and it's incredibly beautiful). Things like the various Gothic peoples, Norse and Celtic mythology, the medieval mystery plays- like England's York and Wakefield cycles; and the Elizabethan and early Jacobean playwrights in England. If you hadn't already guessed, I'm rather fond of northern European history, especially England/Britian. And thanks to one of my professors I've recently been developing a bit of a fascination with pre-biblical, biblical, and early Christian Hebrew history and mythology, particularly Gnosticism.

I love learning about ancient civilizations because they were so revolutionary in their ways and it amazes me how much they could do. Also I love to learn about the rulers in Europe like Elizabeth I in England; they are monarchs who have interesting histories. Overall, I do like all aspects of history.

I love learning about where I came from, known as Mesopotamia--it's interesting to learn about how their inventions have contributed to society today, a few examples are: the wheel, lens, glass, number 0, sun-dial, irrigation system, helmet, chariot, first written language, and countless others!
