If you trust your doctor, go ahead with the surgery. If you don't, pass on it or go to several seminars in your area with different doctors. DON'T be afraid to ask questions. The good surgeons will answer them. If they hesitate on answering or try to slough you off, run, don't walk out of the office.

I've known several people who have gone through it, including my brother, and everyone was perfectly happy with it. Don't be afraid; just be happy that you are able to have this great opportunity. I'm sure you've done all of the research and that you're ready, so don't let fear get in your way. All the best to you!

If in doubt- get out!

Had a few aunts that did the lasik thing- they weren't pleased with theirs. Had a friend that had it and she was pleased. Depends on the sit. and person.

I see Lasik is a very profitable profession. $2000.
Ironically, if THEY pay me $2000, I would NOT go for it. It's too risky. Never.

as an optometric professional I would suggest that you discuss your concerns with your optometrist or opthamologist. I personally would not do it because my insurance won't pay and it is very expensive approx $2000 per eye.

Ask your doctor if you can speak with any of his past patients. I had it done June 05 and I think it's great no problems.
