Sheri Lynch has 2 books out.
The first is Hello, My Name Is Mommy : The Dysfunctional Girl's Guide to Having, Loving (and Hopefully Not Screwing Up) a Baby. $6 on Amazon This book was a life saver for me. All the pregnancy guides are so dry & mind numbingly dull. they are great for information, but Sheri's book tells you all of the other stuff. Like what your life will be like. She's got a dark, whitty hummor. Enjoy!
The second is Be Happy or I'll Scream!: My Deranged Quest for the Perfect Husband, Family, and Life. Great for new Mom's or any Mom needing a laugh. $13 on amazon.com

"The Baby Owner's Manual" by Louis Borgenicht and Joe Borgenicht. It's written like a vcr guide or something which is funny...but is chock full of information. Has great diagrams on ways to hold baby, feeding positions (breast and bottle), swaddling techniques, and even baby massage. It was seriously more helpful than the What to Expect... book I thought and it was easy to read and fun too. If you don't wanna give it to mommy I would suggest that Daddy might enjoy it. I know our daddy did.

I could recommend Jodi Picoult or Nicholas Sparks. Both of whom are amazing authors with first-class books that invoke amazing emotions. You too can get her 'To Kill A Mocking Bird' via Harper Lee that is a Pulitzer winner traditional novel. If you wish chick flicks, opt for Shopaholic Series or the Devil Wears Prada. But in my view I suppose chick flicks to be uninteresting and dumb (too many blondes) . If your spouse like well nice literature, it'll no longer fascinate her.

Pregnancy for Dummies!!! It sounds really funny, but seriously, it's a GREAT book! My husband got it for me the day after I told him I was pregnant, he's silly to begin with, so I got a good laugh.

Parenthood by Paul Reiser
here's a link - I read this book after my son was born and laughed until I peed myself (granted, that's is much easier to do right after you've had a baby) :P
