that is kind of true. for instance, my very book smart friend and i had to put together a triple beam balance at school and it wasnt hard, very large pieces but my friend said "oh im not good at these things. if my dad was here he would do it for me" and i said "its not that hard" and i helped put it together and she was amazed and said "wow forget science (i want to be a scientist/ engineer) you should be a mechanic!"

Learn this lesson NOW: Do not judge yourself based on what you think people around you are or are not. For one thing, you never know what is going on in their lives. The person next to you in AP chemistry who you envy because he sounds so smart, could have a very unhappy life or could have just suffered a great tragedy. Being the smartest in the room does not guarantee happiness. Judge yourself on your own criteria, not in comparison to those around you.

Listen in class and if studying works for you, do that too. You can also read a lot of books. That helps you to know some things that maybe others may not know. If you don't like to read then maybe you can watch a lot of History Channel, Animal Channel, and Discovery Channel.

Always strive to find new ways of keeping your brain active and finding new challenges. Don't ONLY stick to the things you find exciting and easy. Use the side of your brain that's more challenging for you. It's a mental exercise. It doesn't mean that you need to spend hours studying calculus if you're tremendously right-brained and would prefer to study art, but engage in all different sorts of activities. That will keep the brain paths used to firing and keep your brain agile.

Read books for pleasure.
Listen to them on tape or CD.
Watch your schoolmates' behavior. Are they just answering the question by rewording the question? Are they confident? Do they present positive body language?
Lastly, You should gauge your own "smartness" of yourself not of others.

Those people Probably just can take in information better, but if faced with a situation, they will be clueless, you probably are smart, just.... doubtful of your abilities. I can solve problems faster then my friends, but can't get A's on my report card, I get C's,.

Its all memory, eat fish, nuts and any other food that helps with memory.

no body's perfect! i think you're smarter than you think ..
you should ask anyone if you have any questions, don't be shy to ask anything, read many books, happy with your life, and don't ever think they're smarter than you.
