I have brown plywood as the floor in my house and i scrubbed it with bleach to get certain doggie smells out of it, do i have to wash the floor with water, or can i let it sit overnight without it doing anything to the floor?

You can use diluted bleach to mop without it doing much change in color. Pure bleach might discolor even plywood. A 10% bleach solution is fine to deodorize. I would add some plain white vinegar to that too. Especially when mopping, it neutralizes odors and ants hate it too. Always keep a spray bottle of half white vinegar and water with a touch of dish detergent to spray after doggie messes to get rid of odors. It works for lots of things. Good luck.

Bleach won't stain but it will wash out woodstain from your floor. If you scrubbed the whole floor and it's unstained there's a good chance you won't notice any difference--it'll wash out some of the color but do it in a way that it still looks natural. If it's stained and unvarnished--which is my guess--it'll probably end up looking like a mess, though it might not depending on the stain (jellies are pretty resistant to chlorides). Washing with water is probably the last thing you want to do. It'll help the bleach penetrate (since you can't extract the bleach other than floating it you won't effectively dilute it) and even worse could break the adhesive bonds between the wood layers which would ruin the floor (that's if you're lucky--seperating those layers will probably make the floor pretty unsafe).

Watch the spot carefully in the coming months. Plywood is a wood product made from gluing several thing sheets of of wood together. the glue may have dissolved on you, or the wood will rot. Bleach is an awfully strong substance. It will eat up anything. It is a salt base with a clorine mix. Stout stuff my friend. And to get out the doggie smell. You probably are going to find out it is still there. mixed in with the clorine smell.

Use vinegar next time. It works very well and the vinegar smell dissapates and takes the doggie smell with it.
