If you're talking about the "old Metallica" (IE Black Album and before):
Megadeth, Steve Vai, Slayer and Pantera somewhat (mood style and technique)
Joe Satriani, Van Halen (technique)
Guns and Roses (technique and mood somewhat)
Back in those days (pre black album), Kirk Hammet was a guitar virtuoso and Metallica managed to combine technical complexity of classical music basis with flaring solos and haunting mood on virtually every album Metallica produced. Megadeth's "Symphony of Destruction" is one of the few songs that comes close in both mood and technique.
For Metallica's work for the album "Load" and after comparisons to numerous bands such as Rammstein and System of a Down and even some of the rap rock bands, although Metallica does go back to the feel of their classic choruses in various songs (they have a strange addiction to stretching their usual key of E-minor in all sorts of imaginative ways).
But, sad as it is, finding bands as good as the old Metallica is VERY hard...most guitarists who can keep that pace are virtuosos and many virtuosos can match the technique but not the mood: that's what make Metallica a classic while other competing groups, even Guns and Roses, fade off.

RE: propose me some bands comparable to Metallica? I've in no way truly been previous rock yet I've gotten into their grasp of Puppets album. propose me stuff comparable to this?

i cant think of one...there is no other band in the world like Metallica...some have tried...all have failed.
