You could read that book "night". They took their belongings. cut off their hair. made them wear numbers instead of names.....no matter what you were before (rich, poor..whatever) you were all the same after and you didn't even have a name anymore.

they had "labor camps" where they worked the jews for unthinkable hours with no pay and hardly enough food. i called them "labor camps" because the main purpose was not for labor. it was to work the jews as hard as they could until the jews died. then there were also death camps which were designed for the sole purpose of killing the jews. they shipped the jews to the death camps in cattle cars which held hundreds of people and were very small. at the death camps they said that the jews were going to take a shower and they were to put all thier belongings in cubbies (which the nazi's took later), and all the jews in the "shower" weren't sprayed with water, but with carbon monoxide -- a very poinsonous gas -- these "showers" killed unthinkable amounts of jews.

also, when people came to look at the labor camps and death camps, the german nazi's pretended that the jews were happy there, and they showed pictures that little children drew. later, pictures of death and scary things were found that children had drawn (to show what was really going on) and hid (so the nazi's couldnt take them away).

jews were also killed in masses by shooting them and having them fall into a huge grave filled with hundreds of jews at a time. sometimes the jews did not die from the bullet right away, but dead bodies fell ontop of them and some of them were crushed to death and some of them starved to death....

They starved them and did horrible experiments on them, too. There were instances where they were forced to aid in the murders of their own children.

The movie Judgement At Nuremberg contains live footage from concentration camps. It's not a pretty sight, but it's the truth.

They were made to feel guilty ; through use of psychology, they probably felt guilty, they were noticeably singled out, probably felt that the whole of Germany were against them and it was use-less to fight back ; so they became totally submissive to the Nazis.

When your government of the day tells you the jews - or gypsy's or whoever are inferior people who should be exterminated then a good many people will buy into it.

They used an affective and deadly propaganda. By taking advantage of the economic fears of most Germans after WWI, allowed the Nazi too become powerful.

Isolated them from the rest of society, moved them in cattle train cars, exterminated the young, weak, and old, the rest were slave labor, placed them in concentration camps, and considered them sub-human.
