My koi have dismembered my new water lilies. If I save the floating leaves, how can I start a new plant.?

To start a water lily:
Press the primer bulb 7x
Move the choke lever to "full"
Pull the cord quickly until it tries to start
Move the choke lever to "half"
Pull the cord again
Let it run for 30 seconds
Move choke lever to "run"
Your water lily should be started.

If all you have is leaves you might as well go by you a new water lily. Next time put some hardware cloth around roots to keep koi at bay.
