Anything from the Beatles.

If you're really a swell guy, "Apostrophe" by Frank Zappa or "Their Satanic Majesties Request" (with the lenticular cover), by the Rolling Stones

I have a pretty large collection of vinyl and the best sounding record in my entire collection is "Elephant" by the White Stripes. No digital equipment was used in the recording or mixing of the album whatsoever, so it should make sense that it would sound absolutely amazing on vinyl. The cd version doesn't even come close to doing that album justice. The white album is also a great choice, but finding a good copy is next to impossible.

No idea what his taste is, but the Beatles WHITE ALBUM is a great choice. It's got some great songs and was produced by George Martin. They don't come any better than him.
It may be very hard to find a clean vinyl copy, because everyone I know who owned one played it to death. Be prepared to pay a high price for a "near mint" copy.

Or you could buy a new 180g vinyl copy of Jimi Hendrix's "Electric Ladyland" from his website. It's another classic double album from the same time period and only costs $35.
