I'm torn between two memoirs:
"Here's What We'll Say" by Amazing Race 4 winner, Reichen Lehmkuhl
"The Confession" by ex-NJ Gov.James McGreevey

For me, these memoirs were incredibly well written and the first one was pretty funny too.

The best new book I read this year was Heat by Bill Buford. In it, the author decides to work in the culinary world, starting with Mario Batali and then going to Italy to learn from the masters there. Funny, insightful and a great read.
