hope someone can help me answer this problem:

Write two fuctions f(x) and g(x) for which (f*g)(x)=2x^2+11x-6. Tell how you determined f(x) and g(x).

That's the problem. The teacher didn't go over something like this and I have to put SOMETHING down.

Factor 2x^2 + 11x - 6.
(2x -1) (x+6)

So f(x) = 2x-1 and g(x) = x+6 is one possible answer.

This took me a minute. I think you want to find two functions that when multiplied will give you 2x^2+11x-6. Can you factor that equation? Then, f(x) would be one of the factors and g(x) would be the other.
