I'm not sure what you're after with this question...

The "when" is usually between 36-40 weeks, ideally. Earlier than that and the baby is at risk.

"where"..anywhere it wants, really. People have had babies in grocery stores, in the backs of cabs...There's no way of predicting when it will start, unless you're being induced chemically or having a cesarean.

"how"...well, the uterus starts producing contractions similar to very strong period cramps. You lose your mucous plug, your water breaks, and your cervix dilates until it's big enough for the baby's head to fit through. It's all very fascinating, really. Google it, and I'm sure you'll find a lot of detailed information. And maybe even some pictures.

It can start anytime anywheres & for many reasons .Everyones body is different .I have 4 girls and all were different the last one , my waters broke at home was only few tsp. water I was 1 month pre mature Went to hospital for check up ended up having baby same night .First baby they has to break waters in Hospital I had started with cramps. Was 12 hrs in labour .You can feel uneasy & a bit nervous. You really don't know what to expect, is, the worse I think .The attitude you have makes a big difference .Don't freak out be calm you can't stop whats coming & if you have a bad attitude it makes it worse & then all of a sudden it's over what a delightful feeling for me no pain relief jelly belly never felt so good & then there it is the love of your life as tiny as can be If you are good luck

labor normally starts at about 37 to 41 weeks, how it starts is usually you loose your mucus plug, then contractions start, and where umm... it's definetly a suprise for everyone.

I don't know about when and how, but the "where" is constant. You have to be on roller coaster. ;)
